1921-2002Nacido en Minneapolis, Minnesota, George Roy Hill curso estudios musicales en la Universidad de Yale, en la que se graduo en 1943. Fue piloto en la Se gunda Guerra Mundial y en la Guerra de Corea. En el mundo del audiovisual entra por la puerta de la television, me dio para el que dirige diversos episodios de series desde 1956. En 1962 debuta en el cine, pero obtiene su primer verdadero triunfo en 1969 con el que sera su unico western, Dos hombres y un destino, uno de los hitos de la decada.
